The finals! Vanderbilt MIINT Team going to Wharton School of Business

Time flies! In September, graduate students had the opportunity to apply for Vanderbilt’s 2023-2024 MIINT (MBA Impact Investing Network & Training) Team. In April, a group of outstanding Vanderbilt graduate students will compete at the Wharton Business School in Philadelphia.

Turner MIINT is an experiential lab designed to give students at business and graduate schools a hands-on education in impact investing. A leading experiential education platform, Turner MIINT has brought together over 2,500 students at 26 top business schools from around the world in a growing impact investing network. Finalists will present recommendations to the Investment Committee, composed of industry leaders, for a potential investment of up to $50,000.
The semi-finals will be on Friday, April 5, and the finals on Saturday, April 6

Lunch & Learn: Mike Rabil, co-founder, and CEO of Premier Lacrosse League

Join the TFC and The Owen Sports Business Association for a “Lunch & Learn” featuring  Mike Rabil, co-founder, and CEO of Premier Lacrosse League. Mike will dive into his entrepreneurial journey launching the PLL and the challenges of starting the league from the ground up, and how they had to convince players to join them. He’ll also talk about his strategy behind giving players equity in the organization and the intersection of sports and social impact.

The event will be on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, from 1:15 – 2:15 pm in Owen Room 110.

Applied Entrepreneurship: Translate Ideas into Business Models

Join the TFC for a new and exciting workshop in collaboration with the Learning Incubator: a Vanderbilt Endeavor (LIVE) and Owen Venture and Entrepreneurship Club (OVEC), where social impact, innovation, and entrepreneurial spirit converge.Work in groups with professors and founders from LIVE who will share their cutting-edge ideas and products. Together, you will navigate how to apply their ideas to the social business model canvas and explore fundamental business elements such as cost drivers, revenue streams, and value propositions. Your insights will play a key role in helping founders translate a new idea into a tangible business model. Lunch is provided!

The event will be on Friday, April 12, 2024, from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm in Owen Room 213.
